Symbolic Spaces

Symbolic Spaces, 2014

Over the past decade, my work has explored how time unfolds—how seemingly disjointed events form the patterns of experience and memory. The Strata and Convex series examined these interconnections, tracing rhythm and sequence through layered form.

Symbolic Spaces, my new body of work, shifts from the linear to the infinite. Rather than measuring time sequentially, it considers time, memory, and experience as fluid and without boundary.

Within this framework, Symbolic Spaces unfolds across four series:

  • Vessels – gentle arcs that create spaces for reflection, contemplation, and healing.
  • Relic – inspired by ancient Chinese Bi Discs, exploring the concept of infinity.
  • Portals – magnified windows into complexity and boundless space.

Intertwined – examining the tension between measured time and the infinite
